Raeana Rader

Board President

As a final paper in one of her Management classes at the University of Washington Raeana outlined her idea of an organization of Stylists coming together to support each other, to learn and help one another grow. She has dreamed of an organization such as COWU for years, and she feels blessed to be able to aid in this dream becoming reality.

Rae went to cosmetology school as part of a running start type program during her senior year of high school. She only intended on doing hair as a career to get through college. However after college, she couldn’t imagine being apart of another industry – so she pursued a career in salon management.

After becoming frustrated with constantly being the middle man in a company culture that didn’t support its employees she decided to become an independent stylist. Being her own boss is the best decision she has ever made, but she will always remember the path she took to get there and the lessons she learned along the way.

Rae is the current Treasurer of Cosmetologists United and has been a key player in filing proper documents, and orchestrating the launch of our Organization. She is thrilled to see her vision of a Washington based Stylist Supported organization finally come to pass, and is ready to fight along side her fellow beauty professionals in the years ahead!
