Wrap Up: Legislative Session 2025
2025 Legislative Session Wrap-Up By Brooke Davies (legislative lobbyist) & D’Arcy Harrison (legislative lead) This is the beginning of the 2 yr 2025-26 biennium in WA state. The 105-day 2025 legislative session officially adjourned on Sunday, April 27th, at 6:31pm. During the last week of the session, the legislature focused on reconciling differences on bills passed by the House and Senate, passing major new taxes, and negotiating the final 2025-27 Operating, Capital and Transportation Budgets. This session in total there were 2,535 bills introduced and ultimately 432 passed the legislature. The Governor also had the option to veto a bill entirely or veto a specific section or appropriation within a bill.…
