2023 Legislative Session Wrap-Up
This 2023 legislative session in Olympia- Cosmetologists of WA United has had the privilege and opportunity to work with Brooke Davies legislative lobbyist for the entire 2022-23 year. This is due to and in appreciation of enrolled COWU Member Advocates and their keen support of the Personal Services industry through our statewide trade association. Their voting participation, fundraising & yearly dues affords the industry a daily and strong presence in Olympia. This has proven invaluable towards proactive work on legislation that impacts our careers and businesses. There’s A NEW SYSTEM ONLINE to renew ALL WASHINGTON LICENSES. Please Review all the information from DOL below we have compiled to assist you. If your operator or instructor license was cancelled between Mar 2020- Jun 2023 : Info Here about NEW TEMPORARY LAW to help reinstate your license. * THERE IS NO LENIENCY For Late Renewal – penalty late fees will occur regardless of challenges with the new system. WA Dept Of COSMETOLOGY WILL NOT PRINT & SEND YOUR RENEWED LICENSE IN THE MAIL. It costs $5 extra to mail your license now and it can take up to 45-60 days to process and receive.
