If you answered yes to any of these questions then you may be just what we need for the Strategic Planning Committee. We are looking for a fresh new face to expand the Leadership Team!

Job Description

Seeking an individual who is committed to the support, enhancement and advocacy of the beauty industry.

Chosen candidate will work in Collaboration with other SPC members and the Interim Board of Directors to implement strategies, tactics and programs that support the success and development of careers inside the beauty industry.

All positions within our Organization are Volunteer positions.

Requirements

  1. Licensed as a Cosmetologist, Esthetician, Nail Tech, Hair Designer, Barber, Massage Therapist, Tattoo Artist, or Instructor inside the WA Dept of Cosmetology (for 5 years or more)
  2. An enrolled member advocate of Cosmetologistsofwashingtonunited.org
  3. Is prepared to volunteer time for meetings, online conversations and/or conference calls (avg. 2-4 hours per week)
  4. Participate in a spirit of teamwork, patience, generosity and good will
  5. Is resourceful and able to adapt
  6. Works towards remaining non-partisan regarding political and/or legislative discussions
  7. Assist in and support educating advocates with “need to know” items and action plans
  8. Be able to speak to the difference between employee vs. small business owner
  9. Possesses a sense of urgency (when needed)

Optional:

  1. Creative & Research Writing
  2. WordPress Experience
  3. Videography Experience
  4. Graphic Design Experience
  5. Working Knowlege of Laws pertaining to our industry
  6. Prior or Current Experience in a leadership roll

    • If you have materials ready for submission prior to March 31st E-mail ASAP – candidates will be uploaded as they are received. Your page will be created from your submitted materials.
  • Starting April 1st candidates can promote themselves in the Advocates only group 1x per week.

Rules

  • Resumes must be submitted on or before 11:59 PM on March 31st. Any resumes submitted after the cutoff time will not be considered.
  • Must be an advocate to run for the position.
  • Must be an advocate to vote for winner
  • No putting down or mentioning others running for the position. Candidates need to stay focused on what they have to offer our Advocates.
  • Member Advocates will vote on who will be selected April 30th
